Die Bold

This was news to me, yet I didn't get it from the "mainstream press". Why not?

--

The state of California has decided to sue Diebold, the nation's largest manufacturer of electronic (touch screen) voting machines because the company lied about the machines' security. The machines have a special feature that creates fake vote totals when a secret 2-digit code is typed in.

I've heard the same thing, but from news sources from outside the state. There isn't a peep here in the press so I don’t know what's going on.

Ah. They are going to sue them. These legal nicities have gone to far: we seems all dressed in lace with powdered wigs, and yet we suggest the French are timid?

"Well, yes, he killed several people, I heard, and they are going to sue his ass off!"
"Yes, he stole several million dollars from his investors, but if we put him in jail, we're going to have to let a pot smoker out!"
"He rigged the elections, got paid off, but I understand they are going to revoke his driving priviledges! "

It seems rather milque-toast:
A man discovers his wife in bed with another man. He moves quickly to the side of the bed where the interloper has left his umbrella, he lifts it and breaks it sharply over his knee. "There", he cries," I hope it rains!"

Ah, Lenny Bruce had it right, in his skit on the prison riot as the warden directs the guards: "Just shoot of few of them down there! Hurry up!"
