Loony Conspiracy #1: "Prescott Bush supported Hitler and financed the Nazi party."

In an attempt to tarnish the good name the Bush family, the liberals go as far back as World War II in search of dirt. They claim that Prescott Bush, father of former President George Herbert Walker Bush and grandfather of President George W. Bush, had financial dealings with Hitler and the Nazi party while the US was at war with Germany.

THE TRUTH: There is absolutely no evidence that Prescott Bush ever met or associated with Adolph Hitler. The only connection that Prescott Bush had to the Nazi party is through Fritz Thyssen, the baron that funded Hitler's rise to power. While it is true that Prescott Bush was a director of the bank controlled by the Thyssen family, it has never been proven that Prescott Bush was a Nazi himself or actively supported Hitler's philosophy.

Fox News: Documents: Bush's Grandfather Directed Bank Tied to Man Who Funded HitlerNew Hampshire Gazette: Bush - Nazi Link ConfirmedNew Hampshire Gazette: Bush - Nazi Dealings Continued Until 1951 - Federal Documents

CONCLUSION:
On October 20, 1942, under authority of the Trading with the Enemy Act, the U.S. Congress seized the bank that Prescott Bush was a director of, and liquidated its assets after the war. However, no charges were ever brought against Prescott Bush or any of the other directors accused of financing that Nazi party during World War II.
