President's Remarks at Traverse City, Michigan Rally

Ok, here's the test: rebutt these statements. In simple, short sentences. What is it that you know, for sure, and can state, with certainty, that convinces you NOT to vote for Bush?
For extra credit: what convinces you to vote for Kerry, besides the fact that he is not Bush.
You may discount all the non information things like "I'm sorry Laura is not here": we'll leave that one to Monty Python.

Bush: "You got some big differences in this campaign. One of them is that my opponent thinks you can find the heart and soul in Hollywood; I think you find it right here in Traverse City, Michigan."

Kerry: "Where the hell does the president get off telling people what I think? If he can't make it on his own record without lying about mine, he shouldn't be running for re-election."
"I guess the president is giving up on California, so he feels free to kick Hollywood. Well I'm here to say that I will be president of all 50 states, president of all Americans"

Bush: "We put together a strong coalition to help defeat the terrorists. There are nearly 40 nations involved in Afghanistan and some 30 nations involved in Iraq."
Rebuttal: The so called coalition is a fairy tale.
Facts: The coalition of the willing consists of 34 nations, more or less.
The US provides 86% of the troop strength.
England provides 6%, so the US and England provide 92% of the troops.
That leaves 8%
The next 5 nations that provide 1000 or more troops, together account for 4.5% or about 1% each.
The next 27 nations provide 3.5% of the troops.
It's not quite Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, but the notion that there is a coation is a fairy tale for sure.

Bush: "We put together a strong coalition to help defeat the terrorists. There are nearly 40 nations involved in Afghanistan and some 30 nations involved in Iraq."

Rebuttal: The so called coalition is a fairy tale. A president of a democratic nation should not lead his country to war with a fairy tale.

Facts: The coalition of the willing consists of 34 nations, more or less.
1 country provides 86% of the troop strength.(US)
1 country provides 6% (England)
That leaves 8%
5 nations together account for 4.5% or about 1% each.
27 nations together provide 3.5% of the troops, or 0.13% each.
It's not quite Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, but the notion that there is a coation is a fairy tale for sure.
