I note that the Wall Street Journal is finding serious fault with Bush: see, for instance, Thursay 8/5 WSJ, p.2, Capital, by David Wessel. He quotes another who says "By cutting taxes now, but not cutting spending, Mr. Bush is guaranteeing tax increases in the future."
What he fails to note is that tax increases that come in desperation are altogether different from tax increases that come from prudent planning.
