The data is right there. Zakaria, the guy who writes the data, seems to choke on reading what it really says: it ain't pretty. Bush performs for a constituency of his own selection, and it is not the people of the United States: his friends and family.
Zakaria calls him the most isolated president in modern history, and this in an age of speedy global communication and trade.

If we can survive another three years... This is exactly the reason I've been such a Bush critic. The level of destruction he's doing to brand USA is incalculable. That the power structure does not seem to care is mind boggling. As Doug Henwood of the Left Business Observer pointed out, they must have all those dollar signs from the Bush tax cuts in their eyes blocking their vision in order not to see the damage being done.
