You don't have far to look, in the Republican Party, to find true conservatives. I may not like the political stances of a John McCain or an Arlen Specter, but nor do I fear for the nation if they come to lead the Republican party. Men of integrity can disagree on the principles of government; men whose sole moral compass is directed by what they can technically get away with, however, aren't political men. They're just crooks.

McCain campaigned for crooks. He votes with the crooks. He supports the same war as the crooksl.
Truman said if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. There's also "if you can't do the time, don't do the crime", "if you lay down with dogs expect to get up with fleas"
Ah, there was that great line from Mad magazine, in a "sound of music" spoof... "We're not one of those nice Nazis like you see in the movies..."
Nice Republicans... sure, but, ummm, don't expect hero badges.
oh, and chris mathews is not bill kristol, not even close. that is cheap "journalism", just using the canned list of bad guys: that does not substitute for thought.
